A Houston Hallmark Love Story

For our couple Kinsey & Damien’s wedding,  Christmas came early!  During November 2023, the couple said ‘I do' at The Springs in Katy, one of Houston’s top wedding venues, joined by close family and friends. Captured perfectly in the title, their special day was straight out of a storybook worthy enough for the Hallmark channel to  film!

Where It All Started…

In her sophomore year of high school, Kinsey, the “new girl” in town, met Damien, a boy in her neighborhood who shared her bus route. Damien was immediately drawn to Kinsey's style and grace, and just the scent of her perfume made him swoon. Kinsey, on the other hand, couldn't help but notice how handsome Damien was, and she secretly hoped he would sit next to her on the bus. Eventually, he did and before long their bus rides led to a budding romance! Kinsey was no longer known as the "new girl" at school, but as "Damien's girl" instead.

The Proposal…

Throughout their relationship, Damien and Kinsey had done couples photoshoots together, but this time was different. Damien had a surprise up his sleeve, and he was determined to make it a moment that Kinsey would never forget. When she walked up the steps of the studio, she saw huge marquee letters that spelled out the words, "Marry Me" It took her a moment to realize what was happening, but when she did, her heart skipped a beat. Earlier that day, Damien had asked Kinsey about the color of her attire, which gave her a hint that something special was going to happen. When she entered the room, she was surprised to see that the balloons matched her dress perfectly. There were candles in every corner, rose petals on the floor, and a slideshow of all the different phases of their love story playing in the background. With family present,  Damien gave a heartfelt speech declaring his love for Kinsey. As he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife, Kinsey could hardly contain her emotions. With happy tears in her eyes, she looked at Damien and said “yes!”.

First Looks…

The Wedding…

Kinsey & Damien’s love for Christmas was evident in every detail of their wedding! After long nights scouring the internet, they stumbled upon  The Knot’s feature on The Springs in Katy, instantly they knew they had discovered their dream wedding venue. And so with the help of The Tiffany Effect, they transformed the space into a winter wonderland—with everything except snow! From elegant poinsettia flower arrangements to a hot cocoa bar that offered holiday-themed signature drinks like “ The Grinch” and “Sugar Cookie” to decorative reindeers (wooden, of course), their wedding day was truly magical!

Kinsey radiated in a stunning crystal white ball gown paired with a bold red lip, perfectly complementing Damien’s choice of attire—a charming green suit reminiscent of mistletoe.

Bridal Party & Groomsmen…

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue….

Kinsey’s mom gifted her a thoughtful charm to hang from her bouquet, which had a picture of her great grandmother who passed. Despite her not being there physically her presence was felt greatly as Kinsey walked down the aisle!

The Reception…

Memorable Moments…

Kinsey: The most memorable part for me was walking down the aisle to Damien and seeing him getting so emotional; which is every girl's dream—to see your husband in a more vulnerable light in one of the most intimate settings you can share together.

Damien: The most memorable moment for me was when Kinsey walked down the aisle. I couldn’t believe it was finally happening, the thoughts in my head were “ I finally get to marry the woman of my dreams, my best friend”—I couldn’t wait to marry Kinsey!

Advice for Couples on Their Wedding Day:

Remember that the wedding is about the union of you two and not just about the “day”. Not everything will be perfect, there will be some hiccups along the way and that’s okay just  remember to have fun throughout  the entire process!

Advice for Newlyweds:

Always communicate with one another. Communication is huge and will always be a relationship staple.  Most importantly, ensure that you keep the spark lit; even if that means doing the little things like holding the door, random gifting of flowers, cooking for one another, planning date night…etc.

We wish you the best Kinsey & Damien, so happy we could share your beautiful story with our readers

Love, Anijah
